Pilates That Meets You Where You Are — in Dunbar & East Vancouver

At Center Space Pilates, we create a supportive, inclusive space where movement is tailored to your needs — whether you’re looking to build strength, recover from injury, or simply feel more at home in your body.

Why CSP Pilates?

CSP Classes are a challenging, low impact, total body workout that focuses on strengthening the core and elongating your muscles. Pilates is a resistance based exercise that uses springs or your own body weight to strengthen and stretch allowing the body to develop into a long, strong, lean form. CSP classes will help keep you active, healthy and mobile from your teen years to well into your 90's or more.

Who is Pilates For?

Pilates is for everyone:  athletes, office workers, the injured, the strong, the flexible and inflexible, dancers,  expectant mothers, the young, and the elderly. Pilates is ageless and genderless. With hundreds of exercises Pilates will push you farther than you ever thought your body could go.

About Rachael:

I found Pilates in my 20s, when I was training in ballet and contemporary dance. Even though I was “strong” and dancing 30+ hours a week, I kept getting injured.

When my hips misaligned and I pinched a nerve, I was sidelined from training and had to find a way back. My physio was amazing at helping me put my body back together, but once rehab ended, the injuries kept coming — a popped rib, a pinched nerve, limited range of motion… It felt like an emotional roller coaster.

I’d build up strength and ability only to be taken back down by injury. One step forward, three steps back. It was really hard to deal with.

When I was 24, a friend invited me to a Pilates class. I’m so glad I went! It was incredible, and I knew it was the key to staying healthy for life.

Just a month after starting Pilates twice a week, I noticed something amazing: I felt in control of my body and its abilities. I had a way to “keep it all in check.” My balance improved (thanks to a stronger core), my back and hips stopped misaligning, and my posture got better — no more rotated ribcage or hips. I felt so much more freedom in my body. I felt strong. Truly strong.
Now, I rarely get injured, but if I do, I have a proven way to find my way back. The emotional roller coaster has stopped.
I want you to feel healthy and powerful in YOUR body too. I want you to keep enjoying all the activities you love — yoga, hiking, horseback riding, running… whatever your passion, Pilates will help keep you strong so you can keep doing what you love.
Because after all, that’s what life is about — enjoying it as much as you can!

Rachael’s love of movement began with dance. While training in her early 20s, she discovered Pilates and quickly saw how much it improved her dancing and everyday movement.

Rachael’s clear, common-sense approach and obvious enthusiasm for Pilates motivate clients of all ages and fitness levels. Focusing on the fundamentals of form and breath in every session, she guides clients to develop better posture, core stability, alignment, and deeper body awareness — leading to true functional fitness and a renewed connection with their own strength and power.

She inspires clients to take what they learn in sessions and apply it to everyday life. Every class is practical, hands-on, and sprinkled with a bit of humor to keep it light.
Rachael is fully certified in all Pilates apparatus including mat, reformer, cadillac, chair, and barrel work. Along with Pilates, she is a certified dance instructor (RAD RTS) and has taught ballet, jazz, and modern dance throughout the Lower Mainland.
Teaching movement and dance since 1991, and Pilates since 2006, she transitioned to teaching Pilates full time in 2014 at her studio as she felt it was helping and benefiting so many people & she definitely wants to be a part of that!
